THE MISSION OF THE HANZON FOUNDATION IS TO SHARE THE HISTORY, PHILOSOPHY, MEDIUMS, AND METHODS CENTRAL TO THE LIFE AND WORK OF LONNIE HANZON AND TERRY KOEPSEL HANZON.

Sharing the Journey

Any long career is full of success and failure. It is the hope of The Hanzon Foundation to exhibit the narrative of this journey and to inspire, instruct, and guide artists on their own artistic path.

Creation of a Collection

Archiving and organization of artwork and documentation of projects is key to creating a system by which the history and philosophies can be shared. This includes sharing of methodologies and techniques.

Archives that become a true “Living Museum” with access to materials, artworks, books, antique and vintage collections, tools, videos, and more.

Local Partnerships and Art for the Public

The Hanzon Foundation strives to cultivate relationships with local art organizations and artists. It will continue to create Public Art Projects with meaning and for significant events.

Inspiration and Education

It is the Foundation’s intention to share artwork, materials, and methods from The Hanzon Foundation with local schools and artists. Focusing on programs which create communication and collaboration between the Foundation, Lonnie Hanzon, and students of all ages.

Providing for the Next Great Creators

Long term goals include the creation of artist residences which will include studio space and access to the Foundation’s archives and materials.

A Place for the Public

A future residence museum will display and disseminate the works and intellectual property of The Hanzon Foundation. This includes a collection of Fantasy Furniture, antiques, and other collections.

A Greater Focus

The curation of other exhibitions which directly enhance and/or correspond with the legacy and work of Hanzon and Koepsel will be showcased and shared with the public.
